OUR SERVERS

Carrier Class U.K. Data Centres

The data centres have been purpose built to offer you the highest possible levels of protection, reliability and monitoring. All data centre systems are fully redundant meaning the failure of one piece of equipment does not effect your web site.
  • Stringent access control and surveillance systems to prevent intrusion and physical security breaches
  • Uninterruptible Power Supplies filter power to ensure connectivity is never severed
  • Diesel Generators provide power for an indefinite period of time in the event of a prolonged power outage
  • Climate control systems to maintain your VPS in the best possible conditions
  • Fire prevention and suppression systems to fight fire without harming your server
  • Experienced engineers on site 24/7, every day of the year
  • Resilient connectivity

Tier 1 Network with Cisco Firewall Protection

With over 100 Points of Presence (PoPs) nationwide and 40 private spectrum point-to-multi-point radio PoPs, the network is based on proven technologies such as ATM and MPLS. It is fully engineered to provide Virtual Private Networking (VPN) as well as Internet connectivity. By making full and effective use of the 'reach' of the network and the numerous access delivery systems available, it is possible to deliver robust and highly available solutions.

As a summary, the network is designed to be:

  • High performance - low latency ensures that we can forward information quickly and to where it needs to get to.
  • Scalable - providing the ability to increase capacity and extend geographical reach.
  • Resilient - which means you can trust us to deliver mission critical data safely.
  • Reliable - deploying carrier class, fully resilient equipment and redundancy to maintain service.

The national network is comprised of a national optical switched, MPLS enabled backbone linking data centres in Manchester, Leeds and London to their Internet transit and peering points of presence in London and Manchester. Each data centre has a choice of targeting one of the three London sites for access to the Internet. Consequently, in the event of a problem in any of the London sites, Internet connectivity will be maintained.

The network is managed and monitored 24/7 via a team of accredited, experienced and customer-focussed engineers in their Network Operations Centre (NOC).
